About Gilded Journey
Who is behind Gilded Journey?
Gilded Journey was founded by a former nurse who traded scrubs for gemstones. She holds a diamond grading certificate from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and has been designing custom fine jewelry ever since. We are proudly female-owned and operated, based in California.
What makes Gilded Journey different from other jewelry brands?
We specialize in designing jewelry that is heritage-quality and can be worn for a lifetime. We believe beautiful jewelry should come with a clear conscience. We use female miners, gem cutters, gem dealers, jewelers, designers, and manufacturers whenever possible. Every gemstone we offer is ethically sourced, fair trade, and fully traceable — from the mine to your jewelry box. All of our custom pieces are made in America using 100% reclaimed metals.
Where are you located?
We serve clients virtually across the country, as well as in person by appointment in the greater Seattle area.
Custom Jewelry
How does the custom jewelry process work?
It starts with a consultation — available virtually or in person. From there, you’ll collaborate one-on-one with our design team to bring your vision to life. We’ll curate gemstone options for you via video, create detailed 3D renders of your piece, and have a physical model sent to you before we begin final production.
How long does custom jewelry take?
Custom pieces are typically ready in 6–8 weeks maximum from the time your design is approved and your deposit is placed.
How much does a custom consultation cost?
The custom jewelry design consultation is free. The custom jewelry design fee, which is applied in full toward the cost of your finished piece is $350. It is not an additional fee — it goes towards the total cost of your final custom made jewelry.
What metals do you use for custom pieces?
We use gold, silver and platinum. We do not work in alternative metals nor base metals. All of our custom jewelry is made in America using 100% reclaimed metals, so your piece is as sustainable as it is beautiful.
Can I use my own stones?
Absolutely. We love working with heirloom stones. Reach out through our contact page and we’ll walk you through the process.
Can you source a specific gemstone for me?
Yes! We source gemstones from all over the world and specialize in finding unusual stone shapes and colors. If it exists, we can find it. Just reach out and tell us what you’re dreaming of.

What does “fully traceable” mean?
It means we know exactly where your gemstone came from and who handled it at every step — from the woman who mined it, to the woman who cut and polished it, to the gem dealer, and finally into your custom piece. This level of transparency is rare in the jewelry industry, and we’re proud to offer it.
Do you offer natural or lab-grown stones?
We offer both. Whether you prefer a natural gemstone with a unique origin story or a lab-grown diamond or colored stone, we’ll help you find the right choice for your values, style, and budget.
What kinds of gemstones do you carry?
We carry a wide range of natural and lab-grown diamonds, as well as colored gemstones from around the world — sapphires, emeralds, rubies, tourmalines, amethysts, citrines, and many more. We particularly enjoy sourcing one-of-a-kind stones in unusual shapes and colors for custom requests.

What is the Active Lifestyles collection?
Our best-selling Active Lifestyles collection was born from our founder’s personal frustration as a yogi who couldn’t find jewelry that survived her active life. Every piece in this collection is designed to withstand gym sessions, showers, sweat, and daily wear without losing its beauty.
Is Active Lifestyles jewelry really sweat-proof?
Yes. The collection is extra durable, tarnish-resistant, and fully sweat-proof. It’s fine jewelry engineered for real life. It can be worn safely during moderate workouts, including yoga, pilates, and any type of cardio you're into.
Can I wear Active Lifestyles jewelry in the shower or pool?
The collection is designed for daily wear and is water-resistant. For long-term care, we recommend removing jewelry before swimming in chlorinated pools or soaking in hot tubs, as prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals can affect any metal over time.

Jewelry Care & Longevity
How do I care for my Gilded Journey jewelry?
Fine jewelry lasts a lifetime with proper care. We recommend storing pieces individually in a soft pouch or jewelry box, cleaning gently with a soft cloth, and avoiding prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals like bleach. For pieces with gemstones, an occasional cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush will keep them sparkling.
